The decision to include the performing arts in the activities of the GRETA for the Applied Arts goes back to the period when the renowned ENSATT was located in Paris, in the rue Blanche.
The continuing training was not affected by the delocalisation of the primary facilities, and the centre was able to pursue its activities in Bagnolet, at a site entirely devoted to the performing arts. These activities were concentrated around the three poles composing the living theatre: costume designing, recognized as an applied art in itself, as well as management and communications proper to the performing arts.
The GRETA is one of the better known providers in the field of continuing training in the performing arts. Its public, largely made up of full or part time performers themselves, can here observe a process of introspection and implementation of professional techniques and references.
Its reputation is based on its demanding and terribly efficient training.
Two of its training programs had been certified, costume designing and management. The GRETA has taken into account the evolution of the changing modalities of certification and its corollary, a formal recognition of experience acquired, the Valadation des Acquis de l’Expérience : an intensive work program was initiated in 2004.
