THE GRETA FOR THE APPLIED ARTS: FROM TRADITION TO MODERN TRENDS

For over 30 years the GRETA for the Applied Arts, which regroups the ESAA BOULLE and its subsidary sites (Faidherbe and Flamel), the ENSAMAA and the ESAA DUPERRE, has been developing training programs for adults in domains linking innovation and tradition. The will to preserve and transmit the unique and precious know-how of the arts and crafts and the creativity of the Applied Arts, as well as the will to leave its mark on technological evolution has given birth to an occasionally unusual coexistence: both ancestral tools and computers play a role in assisting the trainees enrolled in the GRETA for the Applied Arts to master unique, timeless gestures within a creative venture.

Following the example of the establishments it federates, the Greta for the Applied Arts creates an environment favouring activities and learning, a place where its trainers, following in the footsteps of their own trainers, continue to transmit knowledge and professional expertise in the following four sectors: arts and crafts, the plastic arts, the decorative arts and the performing arts.

The GRETA is likewise a setting where professional networks are established, which the trainees will be able to take advantage of after their training disperses them.

The terms of professional advancement, reorientation or personal development express the objectives of the training proposed to people of all walks of life: those working or retired, company employees or agents of local territorial authorities…

Aiming at obtaining the “GRETA PLUS” seal of approval along with the Académie de Paris as a whole, the GRETA for the Applied Arts has committed itself to a quality control program over the past five years…
